Navratri, a Sanskrit word meaning "nine nights," is a Hindu festival dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga and her various manifestations. Chaitra Navratri is one such festive observation, observed during the Hindu lunar month of Chaitra, which usually corresponds to April in the Gregorian calendar. As per Udaya Tithi, This year, Chaitra Navratri begins on April 9, 2024. The Chaitra Navratri will be observed from April 9, 2024, to April 17, 2024 concluding woth Ram Navami.

1. Navratri first day (9th April): Shailputri Devi
Maa Shailaputri is the first form of Maa Durga. She is the daughter of the Himalayas. She is also known as "Parvati" and "Hemavati"

बीज मंत्र  ( Beej Mantra)
ह्रीं शिवायै नम:

प्रार्थना मंत्र (prayer mantra)
वन्दे वाञ्छितलाभाय चन्द्रार्धकृतशेखराम्।
वृषारूढां शूलधरां शैलपुत्रीं यशस्विनीम्॥

स्तुति मंत्र (stuti mantra)
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु मां शैलपुत्री रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥


2. Navratri Second Day(10th April): Maa Brahmacharini
Maa Brahmacharini is another form of Maa Durga, in this form she had performed hard penance to get Lord Shiva as her husband.

बीज मंत्र  (Beej Mantra)
ह्रीं श्री अम्बिकायै नम:

प्रार्थना मंत्र (prayer mantra)
दधाना कर पद्माभ्यामक्षमाला कमण्डलू।
देवी प्रसीदतु मयि ब्रह्मचारिण्यनुत्तमा॥

स्तुति मंत्र (stuti mantra)
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु मां ब्रह्मचारिणी रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥


3. Navratri Thrid Day(11th April): Chandraghanta Devi 
Maa Chandraghanta is the third form of Maa Durga; This is the married form of Mother Parvati.

बीज मंत्र  (Beej Mantra)
ऐं श्रीं शक्तयै नम:

प्रार्थना मंत्र (prayer mantra)
पिण्डज प्रवरारूढा चण्डकोपास्त्रकैर्युता।
प्रसादं तनुते मह्यम् चन्द्रघण्टेति विश्रुता॥

स्तुति मंत्र (stuti mantra)
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु मां चन्द्रघण्टा रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥

4. Navratri Forth Day(12th April): Kushmanda Devi 
Maa Kushmanda is the fourth form of Maa Durga. It is believed that Mother Kushmanda resides inside the Sun and illuminates the entire world with her supreme energy.

ऐं ह्री देव्यै नम:

प्रार्थना मंत्र (prayer mantra)
सुरासम्पूर्ण कलशं रुधिराप्लुतमेव च।
दधाना हस्तपद्माभ्यां कूष्माण्डा शुभदास्तु मे॥

स्तुति मंत्र (stuti mantra)
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु मां कूष्माण्डा रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥

5. Navratri Fifth Day(13th April): Maa Skandamata
Maa Skandamata is the fifth form of Maa Durga; It is said that when Mother Parvati gave birth to Skanda, also known as Kartikeya, she came to be known as Skandamata.

बीज मंत्र  (Beej Mantra)
ह्रीं क्लीं स्वमिन्यै नम:

प्रार्थना मंत्र (prayer mantra)
सिंहासनगता नित्यं पद्माञ्चित करद्वया।
शुभदास्तु सदा देवी स्कन्दमाता यशस्विनी॥

स्तुति मंत्र (stuti mantra)
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु मां स्कन्दमाता रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥


6. Navratri Sixth Day(14th April): Maa Katyayani
This form has appeared from the parts of the Trinity i.e. Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. Goddess Katyayani was first worshiped by Maharishi Katyayan, since then she is famous by the name Katyayani.

क्लीं श्री त्रिनेत्रायै नम:

प्रार्थना मंत्र (prayer mantra)
चन्द्रहासोज्ज्वलकरा शार्दूलवरवाहना।
कात्यायनी शुभं दद्याद् देवी दानवघातिनी॥

स्तुति मंत्र (stuti mantra)
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु मां कात्यायनी रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥

7. Navratri Seventh Day(15th April): Maa Kaalratri
Kaalratri is the fierce form of Maa Durga, in this form she destroyed the dangerous demons Sumbha and Nisumbha.

क्लीं ऐं श्री कालिकायै नम:।

प्रार्थना मंत्र (prayer mantra)
एकवेणी जपाकर्णपूरा नग्ना खरास्थिता।
लम्बोष्ठी कर्णिकाकर्णी तैलाभ्यक्त शरीरिणी॥
वामपादोल्लसल्लोह लताकण्टकभूषणा।
वर्धन मूर्धध्वजा कृष्णा कालरात्रिर्भयङ्करी॥

स्तुति मंत्र (stuti mantra)
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु मां कालरात्रि रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥

8. Navratri Eighth Day(16th April): Maa Mahagauri
The eighth form of Maa Shakti is worshiped in the form of Mahagauri. She is as fair as the moon and the flower of Kund. For this reason she is called Mahagauri. They have four arms.

श्री क्लीं ह्रीं वरदायै नम:

प्रार्थना मंत्र (prayer mantra)
श्वेते वृषेसमारूढा श्वेताम्बरधरा शुचिः।
महागौरी शुभं दद्यान्महादेव प्रमोददा॥

स्तुति मंत्र (stuti mantra)
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु मां महागौरी रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥

9. Navratri Ninth Day(17th April): Maa Siddhidatri
Maa Siddhidatri is the 9th form of Maa Durga, it is believed that before the creation of the universe, Lord Shiva worshiped Para Shakti to gain energy and create the universe. This goddess is also known as the consort of Lord Shiva, who gave him his power and was known as "Siddhi Daatri".

ह्रीं क्लीं ऐं सिद्धये नम:

प्रार्थना मंत्र (prayer mantra)
सिद्ध गन्धर्व यक्षाद्यैरसुरैरमरैरपि।
सेव्यमाना सदा भूयात् सिद्धिदा सिद्धिदायिनी॥

या देवी सर्वभूतेषु मां सिद्धिदात्री रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥
